Google Photos Storage
Created Photos -> Google One conversion prediction model, which influenced 8+ product and engineering leads to build a Photos library recompression feature, yielding +30% G1 signups ($25M) from out-of-storage users.
Leveraged experimentation to identify optimal Photos out-of-storage UX that drove +17% G1 signups (+$12M).
Quantified the impact (+15% G1 storage subscriber retention) of major Photos storage policy change (increasing default file size 2.3x) through rigorous holdback experiments. Thus, Photos maintained the policy in effect.
Highly engaged users comprise 80% of healthy Photos uploaders, which are critical to Photos retention. Defined and scaled tracking for new, product-wide north-star metric (“meaningful DAUs”) capturing 170M users.
Collaborated with UXR to validate quantitative insights with qualitative surveys. Gave 3+ joint presentations on increasing 200M out-of-storage users’ awareness of tools to exit their broken app states.
